Lisa’s Band Of The Month - January: Roderik

Alright, we are back for yet another one of my Band Of The Month segments. I truly believe that the power of community is what is going to help the current state of the industry. I hope this is my little way to do so. This month I had to go with one of the most hardworking, kind, talented bands I know, Roderik

Roderik has two home bases - Long Island, New York and New Jersey. As someone who is a late bloomer to the New Jersey scene, I can tell you there is something truly special about the bands here. Roderik walks the walk - whether it is hyping up a band online, putting together shows with deserving peers and promoting community by their coffee hangs before shows, Roderik truly encompasses what community is and where the industry needs to go to thrive.

Roderik takes its name from Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall Of The House Of Usher. Once you take one listen to this band, you are taken on a journey within their lyrics into that world. Roderik takes it a step further and always has a visual component to their music that allows the listener to become fully submerged into the imagery Roderik creates.

FOR FANS OF:  Point North, The Used, Pierce The Veil

Why you will love Roderik:

Roderik’s music explores  mental health, anxiety, overcoming personal struggle and raw honesty. When you listen to their tracks you feel less alone and find that band that is that warm hug when things get difficult. This band truly embodies everything my podcast Stereo Therapy is, and I am convinced if you listen to one song you’ll be hooked. If you get a chance to see this band live DO IT. I have seen so many local acts and Roderik is one of my favorite bands to watch play.
