Tea parties, princesses, and punk rock? Yeah, that makes sense; so long as you’re a bunch of musician girl-dads intent on showing up for their daughters as well as themselves. Enter, The Emergency Exit, this week’s Under Exposed featured artist.
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, The Emergency Exit are a pop punk trio delivering fun, punchy tracks and the most wholesome, honest DIY spirit you’ve ever seen. Listeners might recognize lead singer and guitarist, Sid Broderius, for his iconic “punkrockgirldad” socials, or his appearance on NAPNET’s own parenting pod, The Imperfect Dads Podcast. When he’s not educating the next generation on the best punk records, Sid and his bandmates Steve (guitar) and Jasen (drums), somehow manage to scrape together enough spare energy to write, record, and produce their own music, and even manage to play some very cool local shows. For the parents in the room looking for a band they can relate to and actually enjoy, The Emergency Exit has it all.
