Name your favorite Hawaiian pop punk band.
You don’t have one? Well, I can fix that! Allow me to introduce, The Moving Dark, Hawaii’s best kept secret (for now). Brothers Perry (vocals), Presten (guitar), and Payton (drums) Sekigawa, bring everything you love about 2000’s pop punk into today’s scene, with striking clarity and beautiful simplicity. Their sound is paired down and pristine; each part stands on its own, with classic poppy melodies carrying forward honest lyrics and top notch storytelling. Their band name is a poetic take on the feeling of stepping into the unknown, chasing after something more and finding your way to where you’re meant to be. The Sekigawa boys represent their home state’s music scene well, reminding the world that Hawaii is full of talented musicians with meaningful stories to tell. Elder emos and all the alt kids are sure to find something to love about The Moving Dark.
