The internet can be a dark place, and the algorithm… we’ve all seen what can happen when we let it run wild. But sometimes the algo gets it right, and the internet brings people together in magical ways. This is the story of subtitles.
Alex (drums, France) and Jake (vocals, US) came together across an ocean in 2022, and made quick work of establishing their remote project. The pair ground uplifting pop punk vibes with post-hardcore depth, and lyrics that fearlessly tackle some of life’s most difficult conversations. Their unique setup focuses heavily on drums and vocals, delivering driving rhythms and powerful storytelling with every track. Though they have only met IRL three times (prior to their tour), subtitles have released three singles, as well as a full ep, and they’ve just wrapped up their first US tour. With energy, passion, and a tactful understanding of how to leverage technology, subtitles promises to be one to watch in the coming years.

What’s your dream venue, the place that will feel like you’ve “made it” once you've played there?
SubT in Chicago (Main Room), being from Chicago that venue is legendary. If we're talking big stage, Red Rocks Amp. as I also lived in Denver for a time!
Paris la defense Arena, an amazing venue in Paris!
If you could pick any band or artist, past or present, to tour with, who would it be?
The Story So Far, one of my favorite bands for sure.
Yellowcard would be sick!
If each of you was a Disney character, who would you be?
Remy "Little Chef" (Ratatouille)
Peter Pan
What’s the craziest, cringiest thing you’ve done for the sake of your music?
Genuinely just content in public, it makes my spine condense.
I drummed in a shower for content.
If we gave out high-school superlatives today, what would each of you win?
Most likely to put emo screamo on at a karaoke night.
Most likely to break four drum sticks in a set.
Any new music or upcoming tours we should know about? Anything brewing behind the scenes you can give a hint about?
We just dropped our debut album "subtitles. on" in March and we are pushing that heavy!
