Usually I do my best to distill a band’s self-described origin story into something polished(ish) for audiences to read. Today, though, I’m going to let you hear from the artists themselves. Because, honestly, I can’t possibly do a better job of telling this story than AITA already has:
We [came] together a few years back when Josh and Patri combined souls and shot the "punx signal" into the sky. They summoned both Eli and Justin from under the bridge where they lived. As we continued to make music together we experimented, combined influences and have slowly uncovered the AITA sound. So, so, so much has happened to get us to this point. So many shows, video shoots, practices, big wins, big losses. No matter what, we just keep pushing. We love this shit.
Patri (vocals), Eli (guitar), Josh (drums), and Justin (bass), deliver a pop punk sound steeped in social commentary. Their energy is infectious; with heavy percussion, big vocals, and just a little more edge than you might expect from a bunch of pop punk kids. Since 2023, AITA has released eight banger singles(including a delightful cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild”), two EPs, and one full length album.
AITA’s most recent single, “Pink Hue”, will have you belting out the words in your car while simultaneously questioning the validity of your internal world view; while summer banger, “Capitán Jerry’s Night Out”, begs you to throw down shamelessly at the biggest party you can find. You might also find yourself referring back to all those Spanish lessons in high school you thought you had forgotten about. With rapidly growing momentum and an engaged fanbase, AITA is ready to take over the streams and find a home on every single listener's playlist.

Cameron Conrad sits down with Eli, Patri, Justin, Josh, and AITA
What’s your dream venue, the place that will feel like you’ve “made it” once you've played there?
The Fillmore in Silver Spring.
I saw PUP there and it was my first real punk show.
Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
This was the first venue I visited when I was 17 on a weekend trip to the USA from Puerto Rico and saw Paramore on the Vance warp tour. It changed my life and reassured all of my desires to be involved in the scene!
FEST in Gainesville, FL!
There’s too many dope venues, but honestly, anywhere is cool.
Selling out a show in a city that’s not our hometown, like The Fillmore in Philly.
If you could pick any band or artist, past or present, to tour with, who would it be?
Hot Mulligan.
What’s up Wax Bodega.
Paramore/Hayley Williams.
I’m convinced we’d be best friends. Just need to meet her. In fact, everything I do is with the end goal of meeting and BFFing Hayley.
Less Than Jake.
I just wanna hang with Roger and soak up his life advice.
Travis Barker with Boxcar Racer.
I think it would be awesome to go to a less produced and a little more intimate tour with die-hard fans in some cool underground venues.
If each of you was a Disney character, who would you be?
Chip from Beauty and the Beast.
I am used to sleeping in a cupboard.
Bahaha excellent question.
Probably Moana. Love the water and being tough!
Scat Cat from The Aristocats.
Coolest MF ever.
Aladdin OR Abu… because… duh
What’s the craziest, cringiest thing you’ve done for the sake of your music?
Good lord have I made some AWFUL short form video content. It’s so hard to toe the line between cringe and optimizing for short form engagement.
Does eating raw ginger count?
Played bass
Content. All of it. Lol
If we gave out high-school superlatives today, what would each of you win?
Most likely to purchase a summer home in Algeria.
Most likely to drive three hours to buy some crazy deal off of Facebook marketplace.
Most likely to live in his drummer’s basement.
Most likely to let my bassist live in my basement.
Any new music or upcoming tours we should know about? Anything brewing behind the scenes you can give a hint about?
BANGERIFIC BANGER OF BANGALICIOUS PROPORTIONS.
