Emo Kids Anonymous - Celebrating 100 Episodes, and What’s to Come

About a year ago to the week, I posted about wanting to start a podcast and was curious if anyone wanted to cohost. Some FOB fan responded to me and now here we are, 100 episodes of later.

I don’t think either one of us expected this show to be where it’s at today, but I know I speak for both of us when I say we are so incredibly grateful for the opportunities and memories this show has given us. From the bands we’ve gotten to interview to the creation of NAPNET, this show has given us so much. Most importantly though, it’s given us eachother. I didn’t get to have an older sister growing up but if I did, I’d wish for it to be Amanda.

Over the last 100 episodes we’ve gotten to go from fans to friends with so many great bands. Greywind, Kerosene, Cincy, we got to interview sports. ffs! This show granted me the chance to yap at Jason Tate for 90 minutes. It’s been a dream come true and it’s wild to look back on.

As Tony Soprano said though, “remember when is the lowest form of conversation,” so let’s talk about the future.

EKA ain’t going nowhere. In fact, we got plans for global podcast domination. We’ve recently expanded our team, bringing in my close friend & confidant CZB in a BTS role as a showrunner executive producer hybrid. It’s time to upscale this operation and there’s not a single person I’d rather have help our show pop TF off.

Next week, you’ll be seeing some changes. We’re talking new logos, new intros, new everything. Episode 101 will signal the start of EKA SZN 2. Don’t get it twisted it’s still gonna be the same ol’ Emo Kids Anonymous, but it’s gonna be bigger, better and more unhinged than ever. We love this scene and we hope to leave it better than we found it.

It’s also important to remember that Tony Soprano was a mob boss who was an objectively bad person (and also pretend) so maybe it’s not always wise to take his advice. So let’s look back for a minute.

I thought about putting together a list of my favorites, but these bands we’ve interviewed are like my kids. I love them equally ya know? So I decided to break out my abacus and crunch some numbers to tally up the top ten most-watched interviews in Emo Kids Anonymous history.
