Under Exposed Artist Spotlight: Flwers

The kids are, in fact, alright; actually they’re better than alright, they’re killing it. Midwestern foursome Flwers have survived the trauma of middle school hallways, cross country moves, even COVID… none of that was going to keep them from chasing their dreams. Twin brothers Collin (guitar/vocals) and Connor (bass/vocals) and their childhood friend Austin(drums) began playing together in their youth, continuing into their college years where they found lead guitar and vocalist Jack and with him their ultimate lineup. Life happened, and time and geography separated the group for a while, but when they recombined in 2022 they knew it was time to make things happen. Their pop-heavy sound, inspired by icons like Good Charlotte and Fall Out Boy, is delightfully danceable and sure to bring a smile to even the saddest faces.

The stories told in their songs ring true across generations, touching on themes of love, heartbreak, and everything in between. Flwrs is a band for the fans, they emphasize community and connection with their fans by engaging enthusiastically at shows and encouraging the crowds to do the same. Pop-punk enthusiasts can find Flwers on TikTok, and tune in to Spotify to listen through their growing discography. To get to know the guys of Flwers check out my lightning round interview below.

Lightning Round Q&A

Q: If you had to credit one band or artist with being your biggest influence, who would it be?

Jack: Definitely The Maine. They are such a perfect example of how to be a great DIY band.

Collin: Marianas Trench because of their vocals. I love Kodaline a lot too.

Connor: Honestly any alt rock band from the 2000s (third eye blind, audioslave, etc.).

Austin: When creating drum parts for Flwers, I would say my biggest influence is the 1975.

Q. What’s your dream venue, the place that will feel like you’ve “made it” once you play there?

Jack: I think it would be the House of Blues here in Chicago. It’s not the biggest venue in the world, but I saw a lot of my first ever shows there so it would be monumental for sure.

Collin: I think selling out a place like the Salt Shed would be pretty cool.

Connor: A sold out show at the Aragon Ballroom here in Chicago.

Austin: Personally I have yet to play the Metro, so the Metro.

Q. If you could pick any band or artist, past or present, to tour with, who would it be?

Jack: I’ve been listening to a lot of fun.’s first record, so I’ll go with them. We need to bring them back asap!

Collin: I think it would be a lot of fun to tour with some of the old classic rock bands, but maybe someone like The Killers would be perfect for us.

Connor: The 1975 for sure.

Austin: Led Zeppelin.

Q.  If each of you was a Disney character, who would you be?

Jack: I’d love to be Simba from the Lion King. The music in that movie is so good and I’d be more than happy to sing those songs all day.

Collin: Aladdin for sure.

Connor: The goat guy from Hercules. (Comedic Relief)

Austin: Dumbo.

Q. Any new music or upcoming tours we should know about? Anything brewing behind the scenes you can give a hint about?

We just announced that we’re going on our first ever tour dates with A Story Told this fall. We’re so excited to finally take this show on the road. You can find all the dates and ticket links on our website. Other than that, we have tons of new music planned. We’re doing our best to try and get to as many new cities as we can in 2026 so we’re hoping for a big year!
