Under Exposed Artist Spotlight - Massfear
Can post-hardcore feel… cozy?
… Maybe.
Dynamic up-and-comers Massfear are here to show you that loud and heavy doesn’t have to feel so harsh. Core players Pat (guitar, composition) and Ryan (vocals) have a long history of making music together, reaching back to their formative high school years. As with most great artists, the duo has experimented with different sounds and compositions trying to find the elusive ‘sweet spot’ (this listener thinks they’ve definitely found it now). The project now known as Massfear got its start putting out chill, beachy tunes, over time though they drew more closely to their heavier roots. The result is a delightful blend of post-hardcore edge with smoother melodies and contrasting vibes that will grab your ear in an instant. Their newest single, Complete Decay, perfectly showcases the trademark Massfear sound and lyrical brilliance. Fans of Silverstein, From Autumn to Ashes, and (yes, even) Linkin Park will appreciate the rhythmic contrast and supernaturally full sound Massfear delivers. Fans can keep up with the guys of Massfear on TikTok and Instagram, and listen along on all major streaming platforms.

Lightning Round Q&A
Q: If you had to credit one band or artist with being your biggest influence, who would it be?
It’s so hard to pick one band so we will name a few, As Cities Burn, Saosin, Bad Omens, House of Protection and Architects.
Q. What’s your dream venue, the place that will feel like you’ve “made it” once you play there?
Our dream Venue would probably be The Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. I’d say we made it big if we played there.
Q. If you could pick any band or artist, past or present, to tour with, who would it be?
I’d say Deftones would be an amazing band to tour with.
Q. If each of you was a Disney character, who would you be?
Pat would probably be Peter Pan, he's a dreamer and can fly. Ryan would probably be Wall-E, he loves tech, the future and being kind to planet Earth.
Q. Any new music or upcoming tours we should know about? Anything brewing behind the scenes you can give a hint about?
We have a bunch of singles currently being recorded and one prepared to be released in December. We are finalizing the lineup for the band and will be prepared to start playing shows early 2026 along the East Coast.
